April 2014 - Favorites and Empties

I was really surprised with the amount of items I had used this month.  I've been using some consistently, therefore, resulting in empties.  Here are my faves and empties for the month.

  1. Tone Bodywash in Daily Detox - contains white clay, jasmine extract and Vitamin E, lathers up really well, leaving my skin moisturized for hours and it smells wonderful.
  2. Herbal Essence Naked Shine Shampoo/Conditioner - Contains 0% Sulfate and Silicon, very light and refreshing leaving my hair feeling clean and smelling amazing. I only wash my hair twice a week and this new Naked line really helps remove all the dirt and gunk my hair has from using different hair styling products.
  3. Herbal Essence Curl Scrunching Gel - great for holding curls without leaving your hair frizzy.  I have wavy hair but I curl it and apply this gel to have my curls last longer.  It's non-sticky and doesn't leave your hair feeling hard/sticky as with most gels.
  4. VS Hello Darling body lotion - smells of white nectarine and peony, it is ultra-moisturizing and contains Vitamin E and C, grapeseed extracts and aloe.  It leaves my skin soft and moisturized.
  5. VS Body Scrub in Pure Seduction - This is one of my all time favorite VS scents.  It smells of red plum and sweet freesia (whatever that is).  It's very flirty and floral and the scrub is amazing!  It just smells so good I want to eat it!  I use this to exfoliate pretty much my whole body... I just love how soft and smooth my skin feels after I use this.  Sometimes I don't even apply lotion because the scrub leaves my skin feeling so moisturized!
  6. Amazing Cosmetics Velvet Mineralized Pressed Powder in Tan - I've found my HG mineral foundation!  This glides on smoothly, leaving my skin looking flawless.  Best of all, it is formulated to minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines!!  And if you have oily skin, this will control the oils and leave a matte finish.  It is very light and at times I forget I even have powder on my face.  It just looks so natural.
  7. NYX Love in Rio Eyeshadow Palette - I believe I received this in one of my monthly Ipsy bags but ever since I got it, I've been using it daily.  Perfect trio of colors to create a natural look for work or everyday wear.  The shadows are pigmented and are easy to blend.  Best of all, they are very affordable.  I've seen them at my local drugstore for less than $5.
  8. Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Summertime - Another item from my Ipsy subscription.  It is a bit too dark for me but I've been using this to contour.  It is a matte finish and applies smoothly to the face.
  9. Tarte Lights, Camera, Action Mascara - great mascara to lengthen your lashes.  Not much volume but leaves my lashes looking really long.
  10. NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee - a fellow blogger (RockMeBeautiful) introduced me to this item and I absolutely love it.  It is so glossy, leaving your lips moisturized and you're not left with sticky lips.  The color is very natural, more like a clear gloss so this will definitely be great to apply over your favorite lipsticks.  I plan on purchasing more colors.
  11. MAC Studio Sculp Concealer in NW30 - great coverage for under eye darkness and to cover up my acne scars.  You can never go wrong with MAC concealers.
  12. MAC Spaced Out Blush - my all time favorite blush during the Spring/Summer season.  I'm so sad it's empty and it was LE.  It's the perfect peachy-pink with a bit of shimmer.  On the hunt to find a dupe!
  13. POP Coral Crush Lip Crayon - The perfect coral lip crayon ever!  At first, I wasn't a fan of lip crayons but they are honestly very pigmented and moisturizing for your lips.  This one is my current go-to lip product.
  14. Sephora Kohl Liner in Infinite Beige - great for your waterline to make your eyes appear bigger.
  15. Kat Von D Liner in Trooper - My HG eye liner.  It has the perfect felt tip applicator, making your eyeliner apply smoothly and looking perfect!

WOW! That's a long list.

What are some of your favorite products for the month?
Please feel free to share with me.  I always enjoy reading other peoples monthly favorites.

May Favorites 2013

I know it's been awhile since I've blogged but my dear friend Jess from GorJess motivated me to get back on the blogging grind. So here I am... On my iPad blogging!

On to my favorites for the month of May.

NUME Finishing Serum - received this in an Ipsy bag and instantly fell in love. My hair has always been a bit dry and brittle on the ends but after applying this daily my hair looks so much healthier and shinier. Definitely a great product.

Sally Hansen polish in Butter-fly Stroke - I'm loving yellows and blues lately and this has been on my nails on and off for the month of May. A great Spring/Summer color.

Wet-N-Wild liquid liner - very inexpensive waterproof liner for those summer beach/pool days... Or when you are watching a sad love movie. Lol.

Carmex lip balm - prevent those chapped lips with this!

Covergirl and Olay color corrector - great for that under eye brightness

Physicians Formula BB cream - the best by far! Great for every day wear! (A more detailed review coming soon.)

Revlon Lash Fantasy mascara - great mascara that provides my lashes with lots of length!

Physicians Formula BB concealer - works great and conceals those dark circles (a more detailed review coming soon)

MAC Dazzleglass in Sugarrimmed - simple yet glittery gloss that gives my lips something to talk about lol

MAC blush in Mocha - my forever favorite blush

UD 24/7 black liner - glides on perfect

Wet-N-Wild Don't Blink Pink lipstick - great pop of color for those days when I don't wear much makeup.

These are my favorite products for May but now June is here so it's time to switch it up a notch and get those summer essentials ready.

Review: Palmolive Fresh Infusions

About a week ago, I received my Influenster box for the Palmolive Fresh Infusions dish detergent and I couldn't be happier.  I just moved into my new home and I've been obsessed with purchasing good smelling items such as candles, cleaning items, etc.  Check out my first impressions video on YouTube here.

In the box:
(3) 16oz Palmolive Fresh Infusions dish detergent in Lime Basil, Lemon Thyme and Ginger White Tea
$1.50 coupon to use for a future purchase
Also, others received a little postcard with product info but I didn't.

I immediately fell in love with Lime Basil.  The smell is minty yet refreshing.  Lemon Thyme smells citrousy... just like lemons.  Ginger White Tea smells like flowers to me which is a bit strong for my liking but my mom ended up loving that scent so I gave it to her.  She called me yesterday and said how much she loved it and to buy her some. lol.

I've been using the Lime Basil dish detergent for the past week and I am in love.  First of all, how cute is the bottle??  There isn't a "pretty" dish detergent bottle that I've seen yet. This product looks amazing by my kitchen sink.  The scent is just divine!  I love the way it smells and it leaves my dishes so clean and sparkly.  I've been a Dawn user for years but I think Palmolive has taken my heart.  You can purchase these at Walmart for about $2.99, which is a great prize since its 16oz and should last you awhile.

Now I love to wash dishes... haha

Have any of you tried this dish soap yet?
What is your go to dish soap?

Favorite Winter Lip Products

Can someone say "Brrrrr"?  I live in California and it has been freezing over here.  We are not used to 30 degree weather so to me it is extremely cold.  Lately, my lips have been really dry and so not cute! Here are my favorite winter lip products that I've been using lately.

  • NYX lipgloss in Smokey Eye - perfect peachy nude
  • Be A Bombshell Hot Mess - bright red lip gloss with great pigmentation
  • CG BlastFlipstick in Vixen - love the color, very moisturizing and
    lasts for hours
  • PF Matchmaker lipgloss in Pink - great pink gloss that also lasts for hours
  • Revlon Lip Butters in Creme Brûlée and Raspberry Pie - very
    moisturizing and creamy
  • Bare Minerals lipstick in Remember - perfect mauve color and very moisturizing
  • TARTE sugar exfoliated and lip balm - this has saved my lips tremendously
  • Blistex Moisture Melt - wear this every day and night

What are your favorite lip products this winter?

December 2011 Favorites

It's that time of the month... MY FAVORITES FOR DECEMBER...

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE CANDLES!  I find them so relaxing and they put me in such a good mood.  The one pictured above is from Bath and Body Works.  I love the way it smells... so pina-colada-ish.

On to the beauty products...

Dec 2011 Favorites

  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup in Shell Beige - great foundation for full coverage.
  • Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy palette - Shimmery neutrals and a pop of color;  it also includes a Whiskey (dark brown) eyeliner.
  • Maybelline The Falsies mascara - separates my lashes and gives them length, so far I'm liking it.
  • Korres Lip Butter Glaze in Jasmine - A great lip product for the winter and chapped lips. It has a pinkish tint but when I apply it, it looks clear.  Provides great moisture for my dry lips.
  • Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer in Medium - Great coverage.  A little goes a long way and it is quite moisturizing without leaving you with cakey under eye.  And only $6 :)
  • NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo - I can't get enough of this product.  I want more!
  • Urban Decay lipgloss in Midnight Cowboy - This came with the UD palette mentioned above.  It's a neutral shimmery gloss that cools and plumps your lips.  Love it!

And that pretty much wraps up my December favorites.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

November Favorites 2011

Yes, I know it's been awhile since I posted again but I thought I'd share with you my favorites for this month.  So here they go...

Nov 2011 Faves

Juicy Couture Perfume – I love this smell! It’s the perfect soft scent for fall/winter.

Proclaim Tea Tree Leave-in Conditioner –  It helps with tangles, refreshes my scalp, and leaves my hair on my head and not in my comb!!

Carmex Lip Balm – I can’t get enough of this!  It is great for this cold weather in SF.

Maybelline FIT Foundation in 310 – This is a light/medium coverage foundation and leaves my oily/acne prone skin feeling smooth and not greasy-looking.  Great product for super cheap.

MAC Blush in Prim & Proper (Limited Edition from Give me Liberty of London collection) - This is like a neutral nude/muave color.  I'm liking it for fall/winter.

Estee Lauder Day Wear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme w/SPF 15 - The name of the product says it all! I like that it moisturizes my skin without making it feel or look oily.  It makes my skin feel soft and it doesn't break me out.  I also love the smell of it :)

Estee Lauder Sumptuos Mascara in Black - This baby makes my lashes long and full with no clumpiness.  It looks like I'm wearing fake lashes and many people compliment them.  This is a great mascara and is definitely an all time favorite.

MAC Fanfare Lipstick - perfect pink-mauve color and it's a cremesheen!

That's it for my November Fave's.
Any products that you are loving at this moment?

Are you blushing??

It's been MONTHS since I've last posted something on here. I thought I'd start up again and share with you all my current favorite blush...

elf Blush in Candid Coral

ELF

I love this blush and for only $3... I love it even more!!
It reminds me a little of NARS Orgasm and MAC's Spaced Out (Neo Sci-Fi collection).

In my opinion, it's a great shade for any skin tone.

What is your current favorite blush?

Current Obsessions - March + April

I thought I'd share what products I've been using on a daily basis for the past 2 months or so.

Burt Bee's
Lately, my cuticles have been so stubborn and dry.  I use cuticle oil at home but decided to purchase Burt's Bees cuticle cream to carry around with me and apply some on the go.  According to the box it says it is "a soothing blend of natural ingredients to nourish weak nails and soften dry cuticles."  The smell is amazing and very energizing.

Fanfare Lipstick
Why didn't I ever get my hands on this lippie before?!!
Mac's Fanfare lipstick is a cremesheen and is mid-tone pink color that is just perfect!  I have found the perfect pink/berryish color for my tanned skin-tone.  Love, love, love!

Coppertone
MAC Coppertone blush is a peachy-brown matte color and one of my favorite blushes to wear in the Spring/Summer.  It just gives my skin that extra tan-glow that I love.

April Faves
MAC's Evening Aura e/s is a light peachy color with gold reflects.  I've been using this e/s everyday!  On my lids, inner corner, and as a highlight.  It's such a great color.

Prep + Prime
MAC's Prep and Prime is a wonderful product that helps keep the my t-zone from getting oily throughout the day and it also helps keep my makeup lasting longer.  I've been using this with the product below and it's working just great!

Dark studio moisture
MAC's Studio Moisture Tint in Dark is a tinted moisturizer that I purchased when I went to Hawaii and ever since then (to maintain my tan) I've fallen in love.  I hope to have a review soon of this product.

January 2011 Favorites

Helloooo,

It's been quite a long time since I've done a favorites post so I thought I'd kick off the year with my January faves.

Check it....

January 2011 Faves

1. Lancome Quad - The colors in this quad are as follows:
Top left to right: Dirty Pink (sheen pink color) and Daylight (matte white); Bottom left to right: Couture (intense dark plum) and Bikini Golden (shimmer gold) - I have been loving this quad. Great for everyday wear and you can do quite a few color combos with this one. The colors are very pigmented with exception to Daylight and they blend so well.

2. LORAC Radiant highlight powder - This is my HG highlight. I use this on my cheekbones for a nice glow and on my browbone for a nice highlight.

3. MAC Peachstock l/s - This was from the Liberty of London collection and is a great peachy nude color. It is a Satin finish and very pigment; a little goes a long way. (see swatch below)

4. Lancome Timeless Cream l/s - I found this lipstick in my moms makeup bag and when I applied it, I fell in love. It's like a reddish/burnt brown color and is very creamy. I like to wear this on days when I don't have time to glam up my eyes. (see swatch below)

Lipstick Swatches

5. Ion Volumizing Root Lift - This is a volume boosting spray foam and right now I need it. My hair has been so flat and dull but once I use this baby I get a little "oomph" and my hair looks a lot fuller. It smells very good too.

6. Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara - So far I'm liking this mascara but I have to apply like 3 coats to get my lashes looking full and long. The wand is a bit big for my little eyes but I got used to it.

7. MAC Plushglass in Wildly Lush - This is a plumping gloss and the color is a light nude. When I put it on it looks clear with a tint of biege/peach. And it tastes like Vanilla :)

8. Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom body butter - I love this scent! I use this on my hands, elbows, and knees.

9. Garnier Moisture Rescue lotion - I've been using this product for the past 2 weeks and it moisturizes my skin without feeling oily.

10. Bath & Body Works Sleep Pillow Mist - I've been extremely busy with work and quite stressed that it's been difficult to go to sleep. I spray a little bit of this and the scent of Lavender is very calming and in a way it enhances my sleep.

And that's it for my faves this month. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a comment and I'll respond as quickly as I can.

My All-Time Fave

Aroz con Leche, originally uploaded by mzcyn85.
AROZ CON LECHE!
(aka rice with milk)

This is what people call Spanish Rice Pudding. It's a yummy desert or snack that is filled with lots of flavor. There are many variations on how to make Aroz con Leche. Some people eat it hot or cold, make it watery like a drink or make it thick like pudding.

Unfortunately, I've failed many times in making it so I have my lovely mother make it. And I absolutely love it!!!

Main ingredients are:
Rice
Milk
Cinnamon sticks or powdered cinnamon
Sugar - brown sugar canes or regular sugar

Optional:
Raisins
Lemon or Orange peel for a zest of flavor

It is quite easy to prepare but the biggest mistake seems to be not stirring the rice and milk mixture every minute or two to make sure that the rice doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot, and keeping the heat down very low to avoid burning it.

The times I've tried making it, I've burned it :( So I leave it to my mom to make it.

Having some right now as I blog. LOL.

Good Night!

Current Obsessions

Currently I've been using some products more than others...
I have quite a bit of beauty items and try to use them so they don't sit around collecting dust...

Let's get started.

(In no particular order)

1. Tresemme Dry Shampoo - love this product!! I only wash my hair 3x a week and this product comes in handy... it smells pretty good too!

2. Nars Casino/Sin duo - Great bronzer and blush for everyday use but a little goes a long way.

3. MAC Femme Fi e/s - Been using this as a highlighter and I absolutely love how it gives my face a glow.

4. Sephora flat brush - Use this to apply my highlighter and it blends so well.

5. Sephora Blotting Papers - Need this to get the oily's away from my nose and forehead.

6. Sephora by OPI nail polish in *can't remember the name and don't have it with me at the moment* but it's a great nude color.

7. Benefit Smoking Eyes kit - This baby goes with me everywhere. It has 3 e/s, an eyebrow wax and highligher. Also comes with a mini brush, eyeliner, and cute little tweezers. The best kit ever!!

8. MAC HK Tinted Lip Conditioner in Pink Fish - Just a tad bit of color on my lips and I'm good to go.

9. BareMinerals Mineral Veil - great setting powder to keep my face from melting.

10. MD Skincare All-in-One Tinted Moisturizer - Love Love Love this product!!! Its great for the hot weather or when you don't want to much coverage on your face! Use this mostly on the weekends when I'm out and about. It has SPF 15 too!!! Purchased this at Sephora for $8...what a bargain!

That's pretty much it for my current obsessions. If you guys have any questions on certain products or would like a review drop me a comment.

July Faves

I thought I'd post what I've been using and loving this past month.

Let's get to it...

From left to right:
Estee Lauder Day Wear Plus moisturizer, MUFE HD finishing powder, MAC 130 brush (love it to apply my foundation), and Lancome Tient Idole Fresh Wear foundation (the best ever!)

Body Shop Sweet Lemon whip body lotion and Sweet Lemon body scrub.

The smell is so yummy and helps you wake up in the mornings. It also makes my skin silky smooth like a baby's butt :)

Finally my HG lipgloss is MACs Perennial High Style from the Liberty of London collection. It is such a great peachy pink color. I should have purchased a back up. Oh wells!

P.S. I didn't talk much about the face creme and foundation because I will be posting a review shortly.

April Obsessions

LIP PRODUCTS
MAC 2N Lipglass (LE) - This gloss is a peachy nude or beige peach color similar to Florabundance but not too pale. I like to pair it with Brave New Bronze lipstick but most of the time I wear it on its own.

MAC Brave New Bronze (LE) - This lipstick is a combo of beige, peach, pink color and it is my all time fave! I think it's the perfect nude-ish for Olive/Tanned skin tones.

MAC A Rose Romance (LE) - This lipstick is a cool baby pink color that looks very natural. It is great for every day wear and will look good on any skin tone.

BLUSH
MAC Spaced Out (LE) - My all time favorite peachy, pink with gold reflects blush! This gives me the perfect peachy flush and brightens up my face. Love to wear this on sunny days.

MAC Mocha - This is like a muted pink/plum color and I tend to wear this blush almost everyday. It gives me that natural looking flush of color.

EYESHADOWS
MAC Woodwinked - My all time fave e/s!!! It's the perfect goldish/copperish/brownish color that works well with so many e/s combos.

MAC Femme Fi (LE) - This is a great highlight color. It reminds me of Ricepaper and that was my HG highlighter or all over lid color until I finished it.

HAIR
L'Oreal Studio Heat Seeker Straightening Cream - This is great because not only does it help with fizz control but it protects my hair from the heat. I love 2 in 1 products. They make life a lot more simple.

FRAGRANCE
Versace Bright Crystal - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!!! I was on the hunt for a great smelling perfume that I can wear on the weekends or to work and this is it! I can't describe the scent but go smell it at your nearest perfume store.
