BzzAgent Review: Smooth 'N Shine Keratin

As you all know, I'm a BzzAgent and this time, I decided to participate in the Smooth 'N Shine campaign.  This product is a gentler, more manageable approach to taming your curls or frizzy hair.  I'm all about finding awesome hair products that will help tame my frizzy hair.

Here is some additional information of the product provided to me by BzzAgent.

Features

  • Smooth N' Shine Keratin Power Hair Tamer Kit includes application with 2 no-mix steps.
  • Keratin 4 + Aloe breakthrough chemistry offers lasting versatility, giving you the Keratin Power to choose whether you want to wear hair styled straight or "wash & go" manageable curls after one use.
  • Transforms hair with up to 5x less damage than relaxers.
  • Lasts up to 6 weeks on treated growth (or 5 washes).
  • This treatment is a gentle, semi-permanent taming product that won't damage hair structure by breaking hair bonds the way other permanent chemical treatments do, and will have a gradual and cumulative effect the more you use it.
  • Great for root touch ups (no a root straightener) or taming in between relaxer use.
  • Proven suitable to use on previously relaxed hair.
  • If you have long or very thick hair, 2 kits may be necessary for one application

Directions

Tame: Protein smoothing treatment, with a breakthrough chemistry of Keratin 4 + Aloe that smooths and tames the hair while making styling more manageable and versatile.

Neutralize: Neutralizing Milk, containing active sealers to complete and preserve the semi-permanent taming effect on treated hair for up 6 weeks (or 5 washes).
Style: Smooth & straight or wash & go curls.

My honest review:
I was really excited in trying this on my hair. I have frizzy, wavy, short hair and have been struggling with finding the right products to get my hair shiny and smooth. However, after reading some reviews and how it didn't work on some people I was skeptical in using it. I decided to do a test. I grabbed a small chunk of my hair from the bottom and tested it out the product. The instructions were simple. However, it felt like a long process. Part my hair, apply the product, blow dry, straighten.... all for a small chunk of my hair. Nonetheless, the result was not what I expected. I expected smooth, shiny hair but instead my hair felt greasy and felt somewhat stiff. It was hard for me to run my fingers through it. Unfortunately, this product did not work for my hair. If you guys are interested in giving it a try, I suggest you take a small section of your hair and try it out first. I really wanted to love this product and would have wanted it to work with my type of hair but it's ok. What doesn't work for me, may work for you.

I was provided with some coupons for this product.  If you would like one, leave me a comment and I can send it to you (US only).

TOOTLES!
